This Beautiful studio apartment in Manhattan proves that you can live “large” in a small space.  Note the excellent utilization of a 10 x 12 area making one room become three distinct living areas – Bedroom, Living and Dining.  Our young, hip client now has it all!

The Home of the Month features a pictorial of a home and family that we have been working with over time and in more than several rooms.

This design project started with the desire to add more space for this young couple’s growing family. The raw basement area was the perfect opportunity to incorporate additional “playspace” for both the younger and older generations to come together for family fun time. The new space now incorporates additional play space for the children, a “game” room that honors the husbands love of hunting, a wine bar area, home office and theatre and gym. Wonderful space for the whole family to be together!

The owners of this amazing home are world travelers and have many beautiful antiques and collectables that we have incorporated in to the design of the entire first floor.

Seven years ago, we started working with them on their living room and designed a beautiful built-in bookcase and fireplace which took the room from ordinary to extraordinary! The dining room was next followed by the powder room.This past year we completed their family room-again adding a fireplace to the room to add coziness and warmth.Don’t be surprised to see them again as a “Home of the Month” as they move their attention to the second floor!

This beautiful family began working with us when they decided to furnish and decorate their living room/library. They wanted a room that was beautiful but at the same time warm, comfortable and cozy.

We think Design Works achieved that for them and more! Now complete with a wine refrigerator and piano the room is a big draw for family and friends.

Several years later, we now have done a makeover on the dining room and foyer and just recently finished the kitchen and family room space to complete the entire first floor.
